Who Flung Dung?

China Takes First Steps In Space

A Chinese astronaut has completed the nation's first ever space walk. The Spaceship is called "DUNG"

Zhai Zhigang, 41, exited the Shenzhou VII spacecraft high above the Earth for a 15-minute peek into the heavens.

"I'm feeling quite well. I greet the Chinese people and the people of the world," Zhai said as he clambered out of the craft.

He was wearing a specially made suit that took 15 hours to put on and is worth nearly £2.5m.

Fellow astronaut Liu Boming also emerged briefly from the capsule to hand Zhai a Chinese flag that he then waved for an exterior camera.

The third crew member, Jing Haipeng, monitored the ship from inside the re-entry module.

The space walk was the highlight of the 68-hour mission - China's third manned foray into space.

It is considered an important step towards building a space station, China's next major ambition in space.

Sky's China correspondent Peter Sharp said: "This is a big, big day for China. It was Chairman Mao back in 1950 - he lamented the fact that China couldn't put a potato into space.

"And China, although a newcomer in the space race, is moving aggressively and moving forward very, very quickly. This space walk is a key element in China's space plans."

The only thing that worries me is when the Chinese Spacemen pour their coffee and sprinkle some Chinese powdered Milk on top we may ask.
